Balda, Super Baldina 35mm rangefinder camera c1955

This Balda Super Baldina is a German made 35mm coupled rangefinder camera. Somewhat oversize for the 35mm format. The most interesting feature of this camera is the telescopic front, rather strange really, as for all that effort it saves a spectacular 14mm when closed. Evidently - size matters. It also represents this camera's Achilles' heel, for the felt light dams relax with age and allow light in during opening and closing. Donated by Mr. P. Stewart, April 2000.
