Retaining all the visual charm of its Leica II inspiration the Zorki 1c had progressed in terms of the manufacturing process. The shutter box benefits from being die cast as is the curved outer shell, speeding up and simplifying assembly and at the same time improving dimensional stability. The camera's usability was unchanged, but production and quality was improved.
