One of my other major passions is aviation, this picture was taken at the Shuttleworth Collection in Bedfordshire, England. A better environment for displaying some of the Worlds rarest, yet airworthy, aircraft would be difficult to imagine. The aircraft is the only Arrow Active II ever built, being poled around Old Warden airfield in typically exuberant style by Desmond Penrose in the late 1980s. It's a wonderful place where the two hobbies can merge in glorious indulgence! |

BAC/Aerospatiale Concorde G-BOAA carries out a missed approach and in the process shows off her elegant wing shape, alas no more to grace our skies. |

The absolutely gorgeous Percival Mew Gull G-AEXF which held the England - Cape record, flown by Alex Henshaw from February 1939 until finally bettered in 2009. Quite how much of the aeroplane is original would be open to discussion - it had a hard life. Now it's pampered, this picture was taken at, you guessed it The Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden. |
