| Plaubel Makina, 6.5 x 9cm Press Camera (360° Rotational View only, see below for link to main page) |
|
Plaubel Makina, vintage camera - all round view at 10° intervals.
Shown here fitted with a 120 roll film back, restricting the depth of the image to 6cm, but giving the benefit of eight shots instead of a single plate. The low picture count isn't a disadvantage with press cameras as press photographers were generally expected to get the picture in one or two shots and entire assignments could be held on a couple of rolls making keeping track simple. Even single plates were used into the 1950s. Here the Makina is in portrait format so you can see the scissor strut tracks and other details not so visible from the main page image. The film back is actually from the 1950s and was originally silver. As it was rather tatty when it arrived, it was converted in appearance to an earlier version so that it was more in keeping with the camera. Start the image spinning by putting your cursor over the "Spin" side of the image, you can pause the animation in any position by touching the "Pause" side.
