The German company of Regula manufactured cameras that were targeted
at the crowded mass market and part of their strategy was to produce cameras
for chain stores and the like. The Mastra V35 was one such example produced
(according to McKeowns) for Photopia Ltd. of Newcastle, UK. The starting
point for the design was the Regula III of 1956 and the Mastra took this
already fairly basic design and simplified it further. This camera was
donated to the collection in March 2006, the donor prefers anonymity.
