Manor Farm, Botley

freshly picked vegetables bathed in the late afternoon

Manor Farm, Botley in Hampshire. At left the farm vegetable garden and at left some freshly picked vegetables bathed in the late afternoon sun through the kitchen window. Below the lady of the house shovels coal for the stove.

Below right is a derelict lock on the old Itchen navigation Canal. Put out of use by the building of the railways. This section near Bishopstoke in Hampshire was derelict and overgrown by the time this VPK was made in 1914. A similar image was taken a month later in colour with the 1902 Sanderson.

This VPK proved light-tight even though the autographic hatch was opened to see if an impression might be made. However, modern backing paper proved too tough.
