Vintage and Classic Cameras
Richards, Verascope - Direct Viewfinder

7. Direct Viewfinder.

The direct viewfinder consists of two parts, a square window with an etched graticule (for want of a better description), and a rear sight fitted to the magazine. In use, they are simply pulled out, and you peer through them. The temptation is to use the camera on its avoided, as the stereo effect won't work this way! I find this a little awkward in use and generally use the reflex finder instead.
