Eastman Kodak's prodigious camera output throughout the 20th century centred largely on the mass market. The Rochester built Pony 135 falls into the middle of this bracket, aimed at the person who is prepared to have more flexibility than a point and press, but without the expense of quality cameras. To this end the design centres around a plastic top housing and body onto which is mounted a Kodak designed shutter and lens in a retractable barrel. The styling was similar across the Pony range started by the Pony 828 of 1949. The influence was carried across the Atlantic onto the British made Kodak Bantam Colorsnap. This Pony 135 was generously donated and shipped from Texas by Henry Chavez.
