A slightly strange subject this!
The idea was to check out the fastest shutter
speed of 500th sec. The camera was set up on a tripod, focussed on a point,
and stones lobbed into the lake...the shutter being released manually. Most
were, understandably, failures. This one proved interesting though, as the
curtain of water thrown up by the stone has fallen away towards the camera
- allowing a view of the inside of the splash. Interestingly (well
maybe, depending on your outlook!) there are ripples spreading out within
the curtain as it is hit by individual droplets from the centre splash.
It is a remarkable yet simple thing! Click on the splash to see a larger
view of the area. |
