Pentax K1000, 35mm SLR, images of Viet Nam page 3
Agriculture occupies
the majority of Viet Nam's working population, predominantly
rice production. Rice is the wet type grown in paddies in a way
that hasn't changed in centuries. In the central and Northern
parts of the country water buffalo are still used with traditional
wooden ploughs, as illustrated by this farmer walking one of
these benign creatures back from a paddy with a plough slung
over his shoulder.
Above, in a Black Thai ethnic race village in the North is this
cemetery, where the graves take the form of houses - complete
with garden fences, a roof and even miniature furniture with
a dinner service. At right are three Black Thai lads having a
good look at our other Pentax K1000.
